Terms & Conditions

What you buy, what we promise, and what stays with whoever uses the program. The Italian text is the original one; this is a translation, and it is the Italian that governs.

In force since 29 August 2026

What these terms cover

These terms govern the use of Omissia, the desktop program distributed by Morfex S.R.L. through omissia.com, and of the two services around it: the update channel (updates.omissia.com) and the account area (app.omissia.com).

By downloading, installing or using Omissia you accept these terms. If you accept them on behalf of a firm, you state that you may do so.

The seller is Morfex S.R.L., registered office at viale San Marco 13/B, 34074 Monfalcone (GO), Italy, operating office at via Giacinto Gallina 4, 34122 Trieste, VAT and tax code 01289340315. For anything written below: info@morfex.it, or +39 0481 1588008.

What you buy

What you buy is a licence to use the program, not ownership of it. The licence is per seat and lasts as long as the term you choose, monthly or annual, and it covers use on one computer at a time, by one person.

You may install the program on a second computer of your own (the laptop you take to a hearing, say), as long as the same person uses it.

The licence belongs to the firm that bought it: it is not resold, not lent to third parties, and not used to offer anyone else an anonymisation service.

The program works without us

The work on filings does not go through the network: analysis, review and export run on the computer of whoever uses the program, and an outage on our side does not touch an open matter.

The program is used with an account, though: signing up starts a three-day trial, and when it ends you need to buy. An expired licence must be renewed to keep using it.

Updates

On macOS and Windows the program notices a new version and installs it itself; the automatic part can be switched off in the settings.

On Linux it does not, and that is not carelessness: an AppImage carries no signature the system can verify, so the only honest update is the one you download yourself from the Download page. The program tells you when there is one.

An update may change, improve or remove a feature. If it removed anything substantial, you would find it written on the What’s new page.

What never reaches us

The program does not send us filings, their text, their filenames, the values it found or the placeholder dictionary. It is not a promise to take on trust: no address of ours would receive them, and building one is written down among the things we do not do.

What does reach us, if you sign in, is your email address and what we need to invoice you.

What you may not do

You may not resell, rent or sublicense the program; circumvent or remove its licence checks; derive its source code to build a competing product; or use it to process data unlawfully.

You may, and need not ask: use it on any document of yours or your clients’, export the result wherever you like, and uninstall it whenever you want.

If the terms are not respected

If the program is used in breach of these terms (reselling it, working around the licence checks, processing data against the law) we may terminate the contract and deactivate the licence, telling you in writing. Sums already due stay due, and the sections built to last stay standing: intellectual property, warranties and liability, law and venue.

You can stop at any time: a licence already paid stays active until its expiry.

Price, invoicing, renewal

The price, the currency and the term are those on the Pricing page or in the offer we sent you, and they are net of VAT where it applies.

The licence lasts as long as the term you chose, a month or a year, and does not renew by itself unless you asked it to. Invoices are in the account area.

The program is sold to professionals and businesses, so the right of withdrawal granted to consumers does not apply. If you are buying as a consumer, tell us before the purchase and we will say how to proceed.

Availability of our services

We do what we can to keep the update channel and the account area reachable, but we do not guarantee they are continuous. They do not need to be: a failure on our side must never stop the program for anyone, and the program is written so that it does not: a check that does not answer counts as “I do not know”, and the previous state stays where it was.

Warranties and liability

Omissia reduces the risk of leaving personal data inside a text. It does not remove that risk, and no program could: detection proposes, but deciding what goes and re-reading what comes out stay with whoever uses the program, who in the case of a court filing is a professional bound by confidentiality.

The program is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages, for data loss caused by use that does not follow these terms, or for the consequences of a review that was not done. Our total liability does not exceed what you paid for the licence in the twelve months before the event.

Nothing written here excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, nor the rights the law grants you that cannot be waived.

Personal data

How we handle personal data is in the privacy notice, and the part that counts is its first line: filings do not leave your computer.

Intellectual property

The program, the name Omissia, the trade mark and the material on this site belong to Morfex S.R.L. Third-party components included in the program remain their authors’, under their own licences, and are listed inside the program under Impostazioni → Informazioni.

Changes to these terms

We may update them. If the change is substantial we write to the address you bought with, at least thirty days ahead; if it does not suit you, you may cancel and we refund the unused part of the licence.

Governing law and jurisdiction

Italian law applies. For disputes with a professional or a business, the courts of the place where Morfex S.R.L. has its registered office have exclusive jurisdiction.
